Envelope works with AI agents as clients
Envelope's MCP server now has a clean, well-defined surface for AI agents using Claude Code, Claude.ai, or ChatGPT — scoped to design and installation. Agents get consistent error responses with clear signals for authentication, plan requirements, and bad requests. Guides and documentation have been updated to match exactly what the tools can do today.

Envelope is now a design tool: describe what an agent team should do, get back a structured spec — agents, roles, tools, approval gates — and export it for your IT team to deploy. Figma for AI agent teams: design the system, hand off the file. The workspace, library, and schema are unchanged. What changes is the framing: Envelope is where the design work happens, not where the agents run.
